Alaska Airlines Now Offers Unlimited In-flight Wi-Fi For A Low Flat Rate

For a flat rate of $8 for the entire flight, travelers on Alaska Airlines on many of their routes will have access to satellite internet service.

This will add options to passengers’ inflight experience which includes new high-quality food and beverage offerings as well as award-winning customer service.

The airline partnered with Intelsat to bring passengers satellite-enabled, high-speed Wi-Fi at speeds 20 times faster than before according to their recent announcement. “Our flat rate satellite Wi-Fi and expanded entertainment selections are additions our guests will love,” said Sangita Woerner, senior vice president of marketing and guest experience for Alaska Airlines.

For service on their mainline aircraft with satellite-enabled connectivity onboard, passengers can now load their web portal 50% faster than before with a one ‘click-to-connect’ web experience. This includes their newest planes often flying between the West Coast and East Coast, with nearly 80% of their fleet currently equipped with high-speed satellite Wi-Fi.

When on board and you see a dome shaped antenna on top of the plane, or if you spot the satellite Wi-Fi decal just inside the entry door, you will be able to stream on your personal devices from popular services such as Netflix, Hulu, YouTube and other streaming platforms.

Furthermore, an added perk is that instead of waiting until the boarding door closes, you can connect to Wi-Fi the moment you board.

Further adding to their industry leading food and beverage program, they have expanded their pre-order program with new options as well as guests can now order their favorites starting two weeks before their flight and up to 20 hours prior to departure.

Available on select flights, partners include Evergreen, Boxed Water, Chateau Ste. Michelle, Ellenos Yogurt, Full Sail Brewing, Salt & Straw, Seattle Chocolate, Skinny Dipped and Stellar Snacks.
