Delta Adds New Benefits To Its SkyMiles Loyalty Program

Delta Adds New Benefits To It's SkyMiles Loyalty Program

The loyalty program at Delta Air Lines, known as the SkyMiles Program, now has even more passenger benefits. The changes have removed unnecessary complications from the reward program’s mile-earning process.

The airline stated that members of the SkyMiles Program will still have the ability to earn points to reach Medallion Status — the status that allows passengers to start using their points for Award Travel.

March 31 saw that option become permanent. There are even more benefits, though.

Previously, there was a 75,000 cap on mileage earning. That’s gone now, allowing SkyMiles Members to earn unlimited miles.

Delta has also formed partnerships with various brands, including Instacart and Turo, so that program members can earn miles when making purchases from those companies.

Additionally, the loyalty program now allows greater flexibility, status extensions, eCredit extensions, and more payment options.

Dwight James, Delta Vacations CEO, stated that “travel should always be seamless.” He also expressed enthusiasm about listening to customers and rewarding loyalty program members.

James went on to say that Delta will continue to adjust its loyalty program to provide a consistent travel experience.

Delta created various loyalty benefits last year to reward SkyMiles Members who were finally traveling again after pandemic-related disruptions.

Changes to the loyalty program aren’t the only news from Delta.

The airline’s Delta Sky Way, a 27-gate terminal at Los Angeles International Airport, has finished its first construction phase. The project will ultimately cost $2.3 billion.

Delta also recently received an Airbus A321neo to help refresh its fleet.
