Delta Plans A Big Flights Expansion To Europe For 2023 — Here Are The New Destinations

Delta Is Expanding Flight Schedule To Europe For 2023

According to Delta, the airline will fly its largest transatlantic schedule ever to New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport as well as add, reinstate, or expand service on nine destinations from around the U.S.

The new flights will depart from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and Los Angeles International Airport in addition to New York.

“Next summer, Delta will give customers expanded access to popular destinations across the trans-Atlantic, continuing to solidify its position as the number-one carrier in New York,” said Delta’s Senior Vice President of Network Planning Joe Esposito.

“With nearly 620 weekly flights and connectivity to 32 destinations in Europe and beyond, customers will have a wealth of iconic destinations to explore and an unmatched journey to enjoy across the pond.”

Delta will begin flights to London-Gatwick and Geneva from New York on April 10. This is the first time the airline has flown to the Swiss city since 1993. On May 25, Delta will resume daily service to Berlin from New York and add a third seasonal service to Rome.

The company will also begin flying three times a week from Atlanta to Dusseldorf, a route that was discontinued following the pandemic, on May 9. The airline will also resume flights to Edinburgh, Germany, on May 25 for the first time since 2007 and to Stuttgart, Germany, on March 26.

Delta will resume flights to Paris on May 8 for the first time since before the pandemic, while flights to London Heathrow will resume on March 25, a route the airline has not served since 2015.

Last summer, the carrier cut flights to reduce delays caused by the numerous flight cancelations.

However, the airline has subsequently announced many more flights, including two nonstops from Atlanta to Cape Town and Los Angeles to Tahiti in December and a nonstop from Atlanta to Tel Aviv in May 2023. Delta will also resume direct flights between Los Angeles and Tokyo on Oct. 30 and launch a new daily service between Honolulu and Tokyo on Dec. 1.

Delta has also extended all travel vouchers, so anyone who buys a new ticket in 2022 can change it by the end of 2023 and travel in 2024.
