Delta Airlines is presently providing reduced fares for travel to Sydney, Auckland, and Tahiti during the upcoming fall and winter seasons. These special rates apply to tickets bought by September 8, as informed by Delta to Travel + Leisure. Furthermore, members of Delta’s SkyMiles program have the option to utilize their miles for these discounted flights.
The airline is providing roundtrip tickets that include:
“Tahiti / Papeete, French Polynesia will start at 70,000 miles and $851 in Main Cabin
Sydney, Australia will start at 70,000 miles and $1,256 in Main Cabin
Auckland, New Zealand will start at 70,000 miles and $1,095 for Main Cabin”
Travelers must make their ticket bookings by September 8th. However, Delta has noted that the seasonal service to Auckland, New Zealand, commences on October 28th, and flights to Papeete, Tahiti, begin on October 31st. Meanwhile, the flights to Sydney are already in operation and are applicable for travel between November 5th and November 8th, 2023.
Travelers can access the fare sale on Delta’s “Current Flight Deals” website. There, you can select your departure city and view the latest deals and fare sales for that market. Fare sales are available for departures from a variety of cities Delta serves.
For instance, award tickets to all three locations are 90,000 miles from JFK Airport in New York, but Los Angeles International Airport is only 70,000 miles away. Delta’s website notes that these are “limited time offers” and urges visitors to “answer the adventure’s call” and plan a vacation to one of these locations.
Since the end of COVID -19 travel restrictions in 2022, Australia has experienced a sluggish return of foreign visitors. The fare sale could help reverse that trend. According to Tourism Australia, there were 542,000 arrivals in June 2023, down 18% from June 2019 statistics.
