This is a great place to stay when you travel to Taipei. When we entered our room, my wife just said wow. It just gives us a different feeling from other places. The breakfast was great and delicious. They offered something in addition to the buffet table. Whenever I finished food in my plate, someone would take away the plate within a few seconds. You have to get used to it if you have never experienced this before. As part of their company culture ( same as Eva Air) everyone is kind and polite. I will definitely come back if I visit Taipei again.

FAQs about hotels in Taipei

The Undiscovered Asian Capital

Capital of the Republic of China (commonly known as Taiwan), huge Taipei is surrounded by mountains. Taipei 101, once the world’s tallest building, dominates its skyline from Xinyi, an area known for the most active nightlife.

At Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall the national flag is raised every morning and the guard changed every hour. Less known for tourists is National Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, containing a tall bronze statue of the country’s founding father.

Taipei has tons of museums, but the best are Shung Ye Museum of Formosan Aborigines and the National Palace Museum – one of world’s largest collections of Chinese artifacts. Even more numerous are the temples dedicated to Buddhist, Taoist and Chinese folk religions. Xinsheng South Road is nicknamed "Road to Heaven" for its sheer number, but most famous is Longshan Temple in Wanhua, the oldest district.

Taipei shopping is fantastic and includes Core Pacific Living Mall, supposedly Asia’s largest. The Ximending area has lots of shops (and karaoke), while the Shilin Night Market should not be missed. For a break from the bustle head to central Daan Forest Park, the botanical gardens with its lotus ponds,or Yangmingshan National Park, known for hot spring baths and spring cherry blossom.

Whether you fly into Songshan or Taiwan Taoyuan Airport, the well connected public transportation system can take you to any Taipei hotel on Booking.com.

MRT and high-speed railway are very developed in this city. The cost is cheap and you can go to almost every destination. People are friendly and willing to help. City roads and stations are cleaned. Only food, perhaps it's not suitable for someone like the healthy style because a majority of them are oily.

Several times during my short stay people went well out of their way to help me. One on occasion, an older lady who was getting her hair done in the salon where I got a hair cut left her chair walked me down the steps of the shop and out into the street and about 20 yards to an intersection to ensure I did not get lost and found my destination. Taipei Taiwanese during the days I spent there seemed to be a fine people, their city clean and safer than many US large cities. I don't think they will like mainland China coming in and taking over. I visited a couple of great temples and had great suppers.

The transportation and hotel bookings are excellent, and the food is reasonably cheap. Taiwan is generally clean but some areas have a sewer smell problem due to an old system. People are friendly and helpful. Nobody rejects you if you ask for the road direction. Taipei is modern, but smaller villages are old. The scooters pile up full on the pedestrian walk, and we have no way to walk around. By all means, it is a beautiful place to visit.

    Where to start . .

Where to start . . Petrol scooters everywhere and the fumes are choking the city. It is impossible to use sidewalks for the scooters parked everywhere. The country has a huge mosquito plague and only one hotel we stayed at had a fly screen on the window - even with insect repellent expect to be covered in bites during your stay. Taiwan in general does not demonstrate environmental awareness, plastic and single use packaging is everywhere and ironically, you will struggle to find any garbage bins on the street, at bus stops, train stations or on malls. Eating choices usually involve businesses with poor food handling procedures - did not see one single salad in the 5 cities I visited. The quality of fruit is outstanding which may be associated with the number of temples across the country. I could not find maps or attraction brochures in English at any of the 5 hotels I stayed in or at 2 government information centres I visited. There is no discount shopping, only premium prices. Overall I found the locals to be quite racist and wilfully unfriendly. Taiwan is not ready to welcome international tourists, check back in 10 years to see if anything has improved.

The location of the hotel was only 2mins away from exit Y21 of Taipei Main Station. I loved every bit of the hotel. Check in/out was easy and fuss free, the staffs were very nice and welcoming, so are the cleaning staffs. I was given a free upgrade and i'm pleasantly surprised! The room is cozy and the bed is soft. The bathroom is clean and has everything you need. I enjoyed relaxing after a tiring day in the bathtub. Overall, the hotel is very budget friendly, it outdid my expectations and I will definitely revisit again.

Excellent location and provides parking space for customers. There’s a MRT station beside the property that you can easily to travel. The lobby is big and comfortable and the staff were very kind. We were luckily to have a room with the city views. The staying was cozy, and you can watch Netflix on TV. Besides, the sound-proofing is very nice, we didn’t hear any noises from other rooms nor the hallway. Breakfast provides different eggs meals, and we were enjoyed. Very awesome hotel.

Hotel location is the best, just a few steps from Ximen metro. I can see the hotel building easily from Ximending. The breakfast is good (not that much western food but lots of Asian food). The room has everything that you will need. I feel very safe like sleep in my own home. Good place for relaxing from a day trip in Taipei. Also, the bathtab with hot water is so comfortable. The thing we love is that we can use the washing machine and dryer for free. Nice staff, and please consider if you come with a car, parking space is limited. The original rate is a bit too high and actually, that's one of the reasons why I chose. Puremeworld can only be a local boutique hotel which also accepts hourly stay. And the facilities are not really to the standard of international business hotel. But if comparing to other hotels in taipei, it can be a choice if you want to stay in this area and the CP ratio is high.

The lighting in the room was great with night lights. The view to the Grand Hotel of Taipei was great as well. The bed was very comfortable.
