Antigua is a beautiful city with so much to do and so much to see! I walked all over the city at all times of the day and night! I never saw any danger or felt any danger! Antigua is very safe, different than Guatemala city! I did not go and I had no interest in going to Guatemala City. Antigua has everything!

Holy Week, the alfombras and the processions, is unforgettable. A must see. Antigua is carefully curated to maintain the traditional facades. Even the Burger King and Starbucks are in old buildings. No big trucks or buses in the town. Wide variety of good restaurants. Many small hotels and hostels. People open up their homes to sell food or give accommodations. Huge crowds in places, mostly Central Americans. Town is quiet. Tons of tourist junk to buy. The town is on a grid system so it is impossible to get lost.

Antigua is a very beautiful colonial city.
Antigua is a very beautiful colonial city. There are many old cathedrals in various conditions. There are two that are easily accessible and you certainly want to take a look inside. The La Mercede is at one end of the main tourist area and the other is at parque central, in the middle of the town. You can also spend a few hours making your own chocolates and learning about the history of chocolate. It jade is of interest, there are tours of jade factories near the square. At he edge of town, about 15 min on foot, sits an organic vegetable farm that has delicious fresh foods. If the textiles are of interest, don't miss a visit to Nim Pot. Here you will find an amazing collection of textiles for sale from all over Guatemala along with wooden and ceramic items, and of course coffee and chocolate. If you want a taste of local shopping, take a short walk to the local market where you can fin everything you would need for daily life and souvenirs all in one place.

We happened to be there during the Lenten celebrations that take place every Sunday 4 weeks before Easter so we were happy to see the procession. The city was very crowded but it was so interesting to observe all that was going on. The city is nice just to spend time in. It is easy to walk around the central areas and there are many options for eating. As well there are many options for day trips from here.

Exquisitely clean.
Exquisitely clean. A great base location for visiting Guatemala. We made side trips to Lake Atitlan, vulcan Pacaya, and Tikal. Some basic electrical maintenance is needed for the lighting and the hot tub.

Looked forward to coffee and Rosa's breakfast on the terrace each morning taking in the beautiful views. Irving is extremely knowledgeable of Guatemala and Latin America in general and with his high profiency in English, we were grateful for all his knowledge to assist us in our travels. The hostel arranged transportation from the airport to the hostel for us and the driver was very good. It was a fair price compared to other services. I would highly recommend using the hostel transport service.
Staff were very accommodating and helpful and attentive. Breakfast buffet was decent (loved all the fruit). Beef carpaccio was amazing. Macaws were fun to have around. Fireplace was great at night (not all rooms have and they don't make a very big fire, I'm guessing they'd bring more wood if needed). Only a few blocks away from central park. Pool is heated. Spa on site and treatment was awesome. Rooms are well lit and happy (unlike a lot of hotels I've seen around antigua).
We chose this hotel following a recommendation from a Guatemalan friend. When we arrived we immediately felt in love with the garden, it’s breathtaking. After spending sometime, including a walking tour of Antigua we still thought that was the nicest patio.
The team that works at the hotel are very nice and helped with any transportation needed during our stay and are very attentive. Location is great 10/10. We highly recommended and would come here again.
The host was very friendly and welcoming. She helped us out with with several problems we encountered in our trip (like the national protests). She was able to reschedule the rooms for us and took us in, without a booking and helped us out with several options for transportations. The rooms were clean and tidy and there was a laundry service available for a decent price. On the balcony there is a nice place to hang out in the sun in comfy chairs.
Beautiful hotel, nicely decorated. Very comfortable in the room and outside by the pool. The staff were exceptional. Very helpful and couldn’t do enough for you. I was very poorly for the two days I was there and Sarah in reception helped me organise medication to be delivered from a local pharmacy. She messaged them personally for me on WhatsApp. Enrique was also a diamond an was always happy to help with a smile on his face. Five stars!
Great cozy feeling of the entire property. The ambience was in keeping with the architecture and charm of Antigua, a wonderful example of Spanish colonial architecture. The staff of the hotel was extremely helpful and attentive to my requests. Administrator of the hotel went out of his way to find me transportation back to Guatemala City and inquiry from other business the availability of a particular item I needed.
Very well appointed rustic hotel, about a 15 minute walk from the center of the town. The rooms were in front, then there was a nice garden, then there was the section with the restaurant and pool. Hector in the restaurant was awesome and very accommodating. Overall the staff were all very friendly and even though most didn't speak much English and we did not speak much Spanish, we found means of communicating.
The staff was extremely helpful, friendly and approachable. The rooms were well designed, with a great warm shower that you need after a long day of traveling - and the bed was clean and comfortable.
The breakfast is a must-have at Ojala! They had two great options that we got to share.
One other important perk is their garden and patio - all you plant lovers can spend a long time just examining their plants.
A quaint hotel with amazing staff. Rooms are basic, but are clean and met all our needs. The front desk staff was incredibly helpful, and helped arrange efficient and safe transportation to the airport. Breakfast was delicious and large enough to get us through until lunch. Overall a terrific stay!
From the moment we arrived until departure, the staff exceeded expectations. They went above and beyond to help us find transportation when we needed it. The breakfast was delicious, and the views were breathtaking. The hotel itself felt like you were in your own little world.
Great clean hotel in a good location, breakfast was included and wonderful. Staff were really nice. It was very safe feeling too. I often left my door open and felt fine with that. Was a nice experience, lots of travelers. Pool is great for kids too.
Great stay in a small charming boutique hotel. Very pretty room, nice breakfast. Architectural pool that was not really usable and somewhat isolated location in a gated complex was not ideal but everything else was lovely
Beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable rooms and grounds. Super friendly, courteous and responsive staff. Conveniently located and very helpful in arranging transportation from airport. Highly recommend.
The hotel facilities and location were great! It is quite a unique experience to stay in this property, to visit the "on property museums" was such a plus, pool with the wonderful view of the volcano was TOP!
Overall a good stay. It’s a lively hostel mostly for younger people. Nice plentiful breakfast, good prices in the excursions and transportations, not far from the center hub, laidback coomon area. But..
This hotel was wonderful place and very close to Central Park of antigua nice beds great breakfast also. If I have to go to Antigua Guatemala again definitely I will stay in hotel vista San Francisco
Located very close to our vulcanotrip touroperator. Room was ready early and we could wash up after our vulcano trip. Good and friendly staff, also with booking for further transportation needs.
