KLM To Resume Flights From Europe To Miami and Las Vegas on December 7

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will resume flights to Las Vegas (LAS) and Miami (MIA) beginning on Dec. 7, thanks to the upcoming lifting of travel restrictions for most European visitors, announced the airline this week.

“Thanks to the recent easing of travel restrictions, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will be allowed to operate additional services to destinations in the United States this winter,” reads the KLM press release

Earlier this month, KLM announced it was “forced” to cancel its planned winter flights from Amsterdam to Las Vegas, Miami, and Orlando.

The decision was attributed to a new policy that would request nationals and visitors arriving in the Netherlands from the United States to quarantine for 10 days upon arrival regardless of their vacation status.

However, the government reversed the policy as soon as the Biden administration confirmed it would reopen its international borders to fully vaccinated travelers from Europe in “early November.”

The new international travel landscape permitted KLM to withdraw its decision of canceling the flights that the company had scheduled for winter.

The move means that passengers to these destinations, who were previously rebooked, can contact KLM for a free rebooking to Miami and Las Vegas.

Starting Dec. 6, KLM’s flight schedules to Miami and Las Vegas will be as follows:

Amsterdam – Miami on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays at 10:20 am and Miami – Amsterdam on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays at 16:30

Amsterdam – Las Vegas will resume operations also on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays at 10:20, returning to Miami – Amsterdam on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays at 16:30.

As of yet, the exact date the U.S. will reopen borders remains unknown as well as the whole package of restrictions it will impose on European tourists.

The White House Covid Coordinator Jeff Zienst said Monday only fully vaccinated travelers will be allowed but he hasn’t revealed if this policy includes children, or the types of vaccines the U.S. will recognize.
