This Backpacker's Paradise In Asia Dropped All Covid Restrictions

Cambodian authorities have now decided to lift Covid 19 entry restrictions for inbound visitors. Previously, travelers were required to present a health certificate showing that they had tested negative for Covid-19 in the previous 72 hours and to carry a vaccination card.

The decision, which is effective immediately, was made in response to Prime Minister Hun Sen’s request.

Following his trip to New York City, for the 77th UN General Assembly (UNGA), the Prime Minister said last week that he had recommended the easing of all restrictions. He pointed out that authorities at airports there were not verifying vaccination records or administering any tests.

“We have removed the requirement for all inbound travelers in all modes of transport: Land, waterways and air. They no longer need to produce health certificates or show proof of full vaccination upon arrival,” said Monday the Minister of Health Mam Bun Heng.

According to Bun Heng, travelers will still be forced to have their temperature taken upon arrival at border crossings. In addition, public health and quarantine officials will remain at border crossings and airports to check travelers and offer assistance if needed.

Additionally, the minister recommended all visitors get vaccinated if they haven’t already.
