Travel Demand Soars For Spring Break 2023: 40% Increase In Searches

When compared to the same period last year, flight searches for travel in March and April are up 40%, with interest in far-flung destinations like Punta Cana, Paris and Tokyo seeing double-digit increases compared to Spring Break 2022.

Even though average ticket prices are up year-over-year, budget-conscious visitors can still save money by avoiding popular travel dates, choosing less-populated locations and taking advantage of package deals.

No matter where they go, tourists can stretch their money by using the following advice:

Avoid the busiest times to save money: Travelers can take advantage of the season’s lowest airfares by departing during the first week of March (before March 9) or after April 16, booking dates show. March 10 and 11 are the busiest and most expensive travel days during this period, followed by March 25 and April 1 on Saturdays.

Travelers can save an average of more than 20% on round-trip airfare during the spring travel season by leaving on a Tuesday rather than a Saturday. They will also experience shorter waits at the airport.
