U.S. Updates Travel Advisories For These 6 Caribbean Islands

The US State Department closely monitors global safety conditions and issues travel alerts for its citizens and other travelers on a regular basis.

On August 19, it released a list of “reassessments” for six Caribbean islands, most of which belonged to the Netherlands.

Despite the positive results, the agency still advises citizens to remain cautious and observe common-sense precautions to protect themselves when outside the country.

Aruba – Level 1: Exercise Normal Precautions

A short 3-hour flight is all that separates Miami from Aruba, a breathtaking island in the Caribbean that has been ranked once again at Level 1: Exercise normal precautions.

This ranking makes Aruba one of the safest places in the world for Americans to visit, go on cruises, spend their last summer days, or start planning their next winter vacation.

Sint Eustatius – Level 1: Exercise Normal Precautions

St. Eustatius is a tiny Dutch Caribbean island that continues to rank at Level 1: Exercise normal precautions, according to the US State Department.

With this designation, St. Eustatius stands among the safest places on earth for Americans to visit and enjoy.

In recent years, this island has become popular among travelers looking to explore unspoiled pristine beaches and hike through lush forests filled with impressive wildlife.

Saba – Level 1: Exercise Normal Precautions

The US State Department has reissued its travel advisory for Saba, a Caribbean island in the Lesser Antilles, and the good news is that this destination remains very safe to travel to.

Although this special municipality of the Netherlands has no beaches, it’s popular with travelers for its exceptional scuba diving opportunities among dolphins, sharks, turtles and coral formations.

Saba prides itself on its lack of crime, big hotel chains, traffic lights or tourist crowds—offering instead its people, nature, and rich Caribbean culture.

Curaçao – Level 1: Exercise Normal Precautions

Curaçao needs no introduction. Arguably, the most colorful and vibrant island in the Caribbean has just been reconfirmed at Level 1: Exercise normal precautions.

With top-tier beaches, all-inclusive resorts, endless activities for all types of travelers, a unique mix of European and Caribbean culture and this ranking, Curaçao is one of the safest choices for a tropical getaway.

Bonaire – Level 1: Exercise Normal Precautions

The travel advisory for Bonaire has been reissued and presents no changes.

This Netherlands municipality, which currently ranks at Level 1: Exercise normal precautions, has become a prime destination not only for seasoned scuba divers but also for those looking to spend their golden years in a Caribbean paradise, according to a CNN report.

With this US State Department’s “endorsement,” there is not reason why you should put off visiting this island.
