Bali's Airport Officials Encourage Tourists To Use Electronic Customs Declaration To Avoid Crowds

Celebrating the first anniversary of the electronic customs declaration (e-CD) implementation at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport Bali, Ngurah Rai Customs and Excise hosted a coffee morning with key stakeholders on Wednesday, November 22, 2023.

The event, held in the Customs Office’s 3rd-floor hall, saw the participation of representatives from the Regional Offices of DJBC Bali, NTB, NTT, Denpasar Customs, the Bali Region IV Airport Authority, the Airline Operators Committee, various airline companies, and travel tour operators in the Bali region.

During the event, a comprehensive report detailing the year-long performance of national e-CD submissions by airline passengers at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport was presented. In recognition of their achievements, Ngurah Rai Customs and Excise honored several airlines with awards in three distinct categories.

Garuda Indonesia, Jetstar Airways, and Singapore Airlines were recognized in the “Top 50 percent up filling e-CD from the origin country” category.

Korean Air, SCOOT Pte Ltd, and PT Garuda Indonesia received accolades in the “Top Growing e-CD from the origin country” category.

Susila Brata, Head of the Regional Office of DJBC Bali expressed his gratitude to all parties who have contributed, both directly and indirectly, to the e-CD’s successful implementation. He voiced his hope for the program’s continued smooth operation and encouraged collaborative efforts to overcome challenges and meet the targets set by the Head Office. This collaboration aims to facilitate users of overseas travel services.

Mira Puspita Dewi, the Head of Ngurah Rai Customs and Excise Office, also extended her appreciation to the airline representatives for their ongoing cooperation. She emphasized that this ceremony was a crucial part of public service reform, aimed at ensuring efficient passenger and goods movement at the airport’s Arrival Terminal. “The National ECD service for passengers is integral to the Ministry of Finance’s Quickwin program for accelerated financial institutional transformation, which remains a priority for us to optimize,” Mira Puspita stated. She acknowledged that while the adoption of e-CDs has been positive, there are challenges, and she urged airlines to inform prospective passengers about completing e-CDs before flying to I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport.
