Virgin Atlantic Brings Back All Its US Routes For Summer Season

Virgin Atlantic plans to reestablish the totality of its pre-pandemic routes to the US for the summer season.

The news came right after another expansion of its routes from Heathrow Airport, which correlates with the industry’s rapid rebound.

Starting next week, Virgin Atlantic will resume five weekly flights from London Heathrow (LHR) to Seattle (SEA) and Washington Dulles (IAD).

“The restart of our Seattle and Washington DC services marks an important milestone, as we move into recovery and welcome our customers back on board to all the destinations they’ve missed,” said CEO Juha Jarvinen.

“We’re simply not Virgin without the Atlantic and our growing transatlantic portfolio demonstrates why we’re the airline of choice to the USA,” he added.

From May 25, the British carrier will also add to its portfolio a brand-new route from London Heathrow (LHR) to Austin (AUS) Texas.

As capacity is added, there will be more flights from Heathrow to New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Atlanta.

Also, a route from London Heathrow (LHR) to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) will begin service in April every three days.

The airline wants to establish itself as the UK’s leading carrier for Orlando with flights from Belfast (BFS), Edinburgh (EDI), London Heathrow (LHR), and Manchester to Orlando (MCO).

The Orlando (MCO) service was reinstated in November 2021, with flights departing from Manchester (MAN).

Due to current instability of foreign travel, Virgin has implemented a more flexible booking policy that waives fees for any changes to flight or vacation itineraries.

The new policy allows for limitless change to dates, destinations, and origin modifications, as well as one free name change.

Customers holding converted vouchers and open tickets will also have their rebooking limit extended until December 31, 2023.
