This Recently Approved Law Will Boost Tourism Safety In Cancun Area

The Secretary of Tourism of Quintana Roo, Bernardo Cueto Riestra, highlighted the importance of the recently held Cancun Travel Mart and stressed that the new tourism law will help strengthen the tourism industry in the state.

The official said that the Cancun Travel Mart, organized by the Hotel Association of Cancun, Isla Mujeres and Puerto Morelos, was attended by numerous personalities and leaders of the tourism sector at the national and international levels, solidifying it as one of the most important on the tourism agenda.

Cueto mentioned that the new tourism law in Quintana Roo will allow for better collaboration with the sector to develop strategies that meet current needs and challenges.

“The law aims to implement measures on tourism management, the regulation of digital lodging platforms and the sector’s collaboration in the prevention of child sexual abuse, an issue of great importance,” he said. In addition, the State Tourism Registry and the Tourism Information System will be strengthened to increase visitor confidence,” he explained.

Cueto Riestra emphasized that the new tourism law is innovative and could become a national model that supports Quintana Roo’s goal of providing exceptional attention to visitors.

Regarding occupancy statistics, he highlighted that the low season is behind us and October is already showing a significant increase compared to September. In addition, he expressed optimism that the winter season will be successful, supported by a record number of available flight seats for the region.

“We expect a positive end to the year and are focused on guaranteeing an unparalleled experience for tourists visiting the Mexican Caribbean in the coming months,” he said.

Finally, he said that good news will soon be announced for 2024, indicating a promising future for tourism in the state.
