Of the 34.9 million seats on international flights to Mexico in 2023, Cancun accounted for 12.6 million, or 36.1%. This makes it the most important airport in terms of international passenger flow throughout the country.

In second place is the airport of the country’s capital, AICM, with 9.8 million seats, that is, 28.3%; followed by Guadalajara with 3 million (8.8%); Puerto Vallarta with 2.2 million (6.6%) and Monterrey with 1.2 million (3.6%).

These are Dallas-Cancun in 1st place in the ranking, Toronto-Cancun in 3rd place, Atlanta-Cancun, Houston-Cancun and Chicago O’hare-Cancun in 8th, 9th and 10th place respectively, according to figures from the Federal Ministry of Tourism.
