Airbnb Reaches Milestone In 1 Million Superhosts In More Than 200 Nations

The Superhost program was launched in 2014 to recognize and reward the most highly rated and experienced Airbnb hosts. Any Host may become a Superhost by continuously providing great hospitality, regardless of the type of space they market on the platform – from a small spare room to a vast estate.

Airbnb is now celebrating a new milestone with 1 million Superhosts serving guests in more than 200 nations and territories and speaking more than 45 languages.

In the three months from July to September 2022, the average Superhost made 64% more money than a standard Host. Their strategy:

  • “Maintain a high overall rating – Superhosts have a 4.8 or higher average overall rating based on reviews from Airbnb guests in the past year.
  • Be experienced – Superhosts have hosted at least 10 stays in the past year.
  • Avoid cancellations – Superhosts cancel less than 1% of the time.
  • Be responsive – Superhosts respond to 90% of new, booking-related messages within 24 hours.”
