After over a year of stops, starts, and chaos, Carnival Cruise Line has announced a resumption of all services in 2022. Every ship will once again welcome passengers aboard.
Along with this announcement, Carnival published a significant portion of next year’s schedules and routes.
The itineraries show a wide variety of options and promotions. Carnival has also made an announcement introducing its newest ship, Carnival Jubilee.
The cruise line’s total resumption of business is a positive sign for cruise enthusiasts. Carnival has a history as the most popular cruise line in the world.
In 2018, the company’s fleet carried 6 million more passengers than the runner-up, Royal Caribbean.
Unfortunately, the Coronavirus pandemic put a stop to that. Cruise ships around the world idled while countries everywhere fought the spread of COVID-19.
On Aug. 15, some of Carnival’s ships finally started carrying passengers.
To do that, the company enforced various safety restrictions. For instance, only vaccinated passengers could board Carnival’s ships.
Carnival Jubilee, the cruise line’s newest ship, won’t start carrying passengers until 2023.
The ship’s features are exciting even at this early stage. An onboard roller coaster will delight any thrill seekers, and clean-burning fuel will entice those who are passionate about the environment.
It will be one of the biggest boats in Carnival’s fleet, carrying up to 5,400 guests and 1,700 crew members. Galveston, Texas, will function as the ship’s home port.
The company’s CEO, Christine Duffy, expressed excitement about new developments in 2022 and 2023.
These developments are an optimistic sign for the entire industry.
Cruise companies hemorrhaged money in 2020 and much of 2021 as they worked to sustain unused ships. Fortunately, the industry is now positioned to make a slow but steady comeback as pandemic-weary travelers seek relaxing vacation options.
