Malaysia Eliminates All Covid-Related Entry Restrictions For Travelers

Malaysia is the latest country to pre-pandemic operations by dropping all Covid entry requirements. All vaccinated and unvaccinated tourists are now able to explore and enjoy the beauty of this Southeast Asian country. 

Although numerous countries have enacted similar stances in the removal of restrictions, Malaysia is on a shortlist of Asian countries to drop its Covid travel regulations. 

Previous rulings allowed vaccinated travelers to enter, but unvaccinated tourists were held to strict testing requirements. Vaccinated travelers still had to show their proof of vaccination through the MySejahtera app.

There is still some confusion surrounding the dropping of the Travel Form on the MySejahtera app and as such tourists may still want to download the app. With all news that is breaking, tourists may want to be better safe than sorry. 

While in Malaysia, tourists should though anticipate wearing a mask indoors and on public transport but expect to be mask-free outdoors. Note, there have been multiple cases of the strict mask mandate enforcement by Malaysian police, so to not incur fines, travelers should be prepared. 

According to https://covid19.who.int, “there have been 4,687,470 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 35,985 deaths, reported to WHO. As of 7 July 2022, a total of 71,301,952 vaccine doses have been administered.” 

In the last 24 hours of writing this article, there have been 4,204 new cases.
