Marriott's EDITION Brand Makes Caribbean Debut This Year

One of the most popular hotel brands in the world is Edition, a chain of boutique hotels created by well-known hotelier Ian Schrager that’s part of Marriott.

Although there are 15 Edition hotels worldwide, the Caribbean did have one until now.

With the new Riviera Maya Edition at Kanai, Marriott will open its first-ever Edition in the Caribbean in the coming months.

The brand-new resort in the Mexican Caribbean is currently accepting reservations for December and could open even earlier.

It will be part of the opulent Kanai development, which already includes a brand-new 143-room St. Regis resort that opened last winter. Etereo, Riviera Maya, a five-star resort that is part of the Auberge Resorts Collection.

182 rooms and suites, five dining options, a poolside bar, a beach club, and a large outdoor event deck will be featured in the new Beachfront Edition.

Plus, there’s a pool and a fitness center.

The accommodations range from standard “deluxe” rooms to Edition Suites and the property’s hallmark lodging, a five-bedroom rooftop apartment known as the “Sky Villa.”

Marriott has undergone substantial growth in the Caribbean region following the pandemic. This expansion encompasses the introduction of its new all-inclusive portfolio known as “All-Inclusive by Marriott Bonvoy.”

Additionally, the company is actively developing its luxury segment, with upcoming St. Regis resorts like Kanai (and another in Cap Cana) and plans in progress for the establishment of new W and Ritz-Carlton properties in the region.
