Another Major U.S. Airline Plans To Launch Flights To New Tulum Airport

JetBlue will begin offering flights next year between its hub at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York and the recently built Felipe Carrillo Puerto Tulum International Airport. June 13, 2024 is when the new flights will begin to operate every day.

“With picturesque beaches and vibrant cultural heritage, Tulum has proven to be a destination in demand by seamlessly blending ancient and modern, in a country that continues to lead with world-class hospitality,” David Jehn, vice president of network planning and airline partnerships at JetBlue, said in a statement.

“With the new international airport in Tulum, we are able to bring our customers where they want to go, arriving and departing in a brand new, modern, and convenient airport facility while offering the great service and low fares JetBlue is known for.”

An Airbus A320 aircraft will operate the new flights, which will depart daily at 7:55 a.m. from New York and return from Mexico at 12:45 p.m.

JetBlue will now offer flights to Tulum in addition to Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, and Los Cabos, making it the airline’s fourth destination in the country. The carrier connects Boston, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, Los Angeles, Tampa, Newark, and Raleigh with Mexico in addition to New York.

JetBlue is offering flights to Tulum starting at just $149 one-way to commemorate the launch of the new route. These flights are available for travel on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from June 17, 2024, through October 30, 2024, but reservations must be made by December 15 in order to take advantage of the offer.

This month marks the official opening of Tulum’s International Airport. The city will see direct service from a number of other major airlines starting in the next year, including Spirit Airlines, American Airlines, United Airlines, and Delta Air Lines, in addition to the new JetBlue route.

The Mexican Caribbean, notably Cancun, Tulum, and Playa del Carmen draw American tourists for several compelling reasons.

Easy access is another key factor, with Cancun International Airport offering numerous flights from the U.S. Additionally, Mexican hospitality stands out, ensuring memorable experiences for visitors.

The area’s world-class beaches, featuring stunning turquoise waters and white sands, are a major attraction. Finally, the region offers rich cultural experiences, including Mayan ruins and local customs, adding depth to the vacation experience.
