Cayman Islands Drops Remaining Covid-Related Travel Restrictions As Of August 24

The Caribbean nation is scrapping all of its remaining COVID-related restrictions, starting Wednesday, August 24, as per a Department of Tourism statement.

All international visitors, regardless of their vaccination status, will now be able to enter the Cayman Islands without presenting any additional health-related documentation and without the requirement to seek for a travel permission certificate through the Travel Cayman portal.

The removal of the mandatory mask-wearing regulations on the island is also part of the recently announced policy revisions.

Until Thursday, only passengers who have received all required vaccinations are allowed to enter the Cayman Islands without quarantine or testing. Currently, only children under the age of 12 who are unvaccinated foreign visitors are permitted to enter quarantine-free.

Arrivals who are older than 12 and are unvaccinated must still endure a seven-day quarantine.

Additionally, until the same date, anyone visiting the islands as part of a cruise itinerary must have finished their vaccination course at least 14 days before boarding their ship, and unvaccinated children under the age of 12 are only permitted to disembark if they are accompanied by an adult who has received all necessary vaccinations.

There are no longer any regulations concerning inter-island travel, and there are no pre-arrival testing requirements for visitors from outside the Cayman Islands.
