Royal Caribbean International has changed its testing protocols for fully vaccinated passengers.

Those who are fully vaccinated are not required to be tested if they take a cruise of five nights or fewer. Exceptions are cruises with ports of call in Bermuda and Canada and longer cruises.

Unvaccinated children no longer need to be retested at embarkation, but they still need to present the first negative test taken prior to departure.

Virgin Voyages

Virgin Voyages eliminated the requirement for pre-embarkation testing on July 24 for European Union departures and July 27 for departures from the United States.

Travelers now only need to provide confirmation that they are fully vaccinated before boarding. However, the cruise line does not require it: it now allows ten percent of all guests on each cruise to be unvaccinated.

Unvaccinated passengers must get tested before or during their trip.

Carnival Corporation & plc

On August 4, Carnival Cruise Line changed its regulations. Guests who are fully vaccinated and traveling on a cruise for five nights or less no longer need to test prior to embarkation.

Unvaccinated visitors above the age of two can sail as long as they have a recent negative COVID-19 test result.

Princess Cruises has unique protocols for every location in the world. Travelers 12 years of age and older traveling from North American ports and stopping in Canada at any time during the voyage must be fully vaccinated, as are most guests on other Princess itineraries. Upon embarkation, these passengers must present a recent negative COVID -19 test.

Holland America Line’s North American itineraries currently require travelers aged 12 and above to be fully vaccinated, with all guests 2 and up needing to provide a recent negative COVID-19 result upon embarkation. Prior to embarkation, passengers on cruise ships bound for Canada must also complete the ArriveCAN app.
