Omio has released new findings showing where Americans can work abroad for little money. Omio used data from numbeo.com, Investopedia, Speedtest.net, and other sources to analyze a number of important factors before drawing its conclusion.
These factors included the cost of living index, rent index, security index, mobility, Internet speed, and visa costs in different countries. The study team examined the data and found that Colombia is indeed the most affordable country for Americans working remotely as digital nomads.
Thanks to its many coworking spaces, fast internet, affordable cost of living, and the possibility of applying for a visa for digital nomads, Colombia secured first place on the list.
Another reason to think about spending a few years in Colombia is that it’s really awesome. Laureles, a neighborhood of Medellin, was voted the coolest neighborhood in the world by readers of Time Out magazine as part of the “Coolest Neighborhoods 2023” survey.
“The laid-back but still quintessentially Colombian patch of this animated city is a renowned nightlife hotspot — but also a place to flock to for great parks, coffee, and yoga studios,” Time Out shared about the neighborhood.
Omio listed Sri Lanka as the second-best destination for digital nomads, followed by Turkey, Bali, Argentina, Brazil, Malaysia, Ecuador, Vietnam, and Namibia.
